Executive Summary

SENTINEL is a defense research project funded under the FNR Joint Call Defense programme in partnership with OQ Technology. The project leverages Joint Communications and Sensing (JCAS) on 5G-NTN Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite uplinks to detect, classify, and geolocate malicious interference sources and authenticate legitimate ground terminals.

Key Objectives & Contributions

  • Uplink Jammer Detection & Geolocation: Real-time sensing of broadband uplink jammers, reactive PRACH jammers, and pilot spoofing attacks from LEO payloads.
  • Motion-Adaptive 5D Physical Authentication: Exploiting spatial, temporal, frequency (Doppler), delay, and polarization signatures to verify terminal authenticity under high-mobility satellite passes.
