Abstract
This paper presents a comparative study of guard-period (GP) sizing rules (Worst-RTT, Adaptive Per-UE, and Minimum-RTT) and Extraordinary Downlink (xDL) guard-period reuse across 10–182 ms frame durations for Time-Division Duplex (TDD) in 5G NR Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks, supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) ARTES 4.0 Project CREST-5G.
